Q: Where can I find JJ’s Retreat?
A: JJ’s Retreat is in Rutaki, approximately 15 minutes from the main town of Avarua and the airport. Turn left at the airport and follow the road. Turn left (inland) shortly after Rutaki Primary School. Keep an eye out for our sign, requesting you turn inland and we are on the left around 600 meters inland.

Q: How do I get to JJ’s Retreat when I arrive in Rarotonga?
A: If you are going to hire a car for your stay, ask them about an airport pick up and drop off, as this will be your cheapest option. If you would like an airport pick up and drop off, we can arrange this for you. It is an extra $25 per person each way.

Q: What is included at JJ’s Retreat?
A: JJ’s Retreat has two identical self contained villa’s with a separate kitchen and bathroom. The villas are suited for a couple, or a single and are fitted with:
* A queen-sized bed with all linen and towels provided
* A fan and window security screens. Outside security lighting.
* A two-element cooking hob, microwave, pots and pans, plates, cups and cutlery
* Wine glasses, glasses and a coffee plunger
* Fridge
* Toaster and electric jug
* Tea-towels, hand-towels and dishclothes.
* Shower (hot and cold gas heated water), toilet and vanity.
* WIFI access & TV

Q: Are there any extra’s available
A: There is access to a washing machine if you would like to do your laundry during your stay. Alternatively you can access laundry services which are around 10 minutes drive from JJ’s Retreat. A BBQ is also available for your convenience. There is two mountain bikes available for use. Please book these when you book your unit.

Q: What are the options for transport?
A: Rarotonga has a number of car and scooter rental outlets, the closest being an easy 15 minute walk (or 10 minute cycle) from JJ’s Retreat and situated just before Wigmores Supermarket. Your hosts would be happy to drop you there when convenient to you.
Buses: The Island has two bus services, one that runs clockwise and another that runs anti-clockwise around the circle of the Island. A bus passes JJ’s Retreat approximately every half hour on Monday to Friday 7am-11pm. Buses are hourly on Saturday between 7am-11pm and Sunday 8am-4pm.

Q: Is there a local supermarket
A: Wigmore's Supermarket is an easy 15 minute walk (10 minute cycle) from JJ’s Retreat. Wigmores sells a large range of European food items such as fresh bread, milk, vegetables, ice cream, cheese, crackers, tea, coffee and alcohol. You can also fill up your vehicle with petrol.

JJ's Retreat was only built in 2016, therefore everything you see is modern, easy to use and designed for your comfort. There is an on-call property manager to help you get the most out of your visit to Rarotonga, whether it be activities and action or simply to relax and get away from it all.

Private Location
Rarotonga is a small island, but you only ever want to have to stroll to a beach to cool off and get a tan. Our beach is only 600 metres walk, secluded and very private. Our accommodation is new, modern and set on a large property with coconut trees, a stream and loads of greenery to help you relax. You couldn't get further from the hustle and bustle of many tourist accommodations, at JJ's Retreat you will only find lots of tranquility.

With a salt-water swimming pool for cooling off and loungers for relaxing in, the amenities are second to none.There is an outdoor BBQ area for you to cook the fish you catch or to cook the local food you are interested in. You also have your own kitchen with full facilities and can bring your own food or buy from a local supermarket nearby. Shared laundry facilities assist with the logistics of your longer stays. Your own large private deck, loungers and dining table allows for suntanning or shade, whichever you prefer.
